What began in 2013 as a homemade flyer featuring 9 houses has since turned into a 300+ list of home haunts and attractions reaching from Ojai to San Diego.

And it’s growing every year.

It has been featured on KCRW, KPCC, The Los Angeles Times, The Los Angeles Public Library, as well as NBC Los Angeles, KCAL 9 News, and in various podcasts, including Parks and Cons and LA Dreaming.

The SoCal Haunt List is the work of home haunter and content creator, Derek Young, and is sponsored by MidSummer Scream – Halloween & Horror Convention.

HOW DOES IT WORK:

Listings can be submitted by the haunt owner only. This is to ensure that the SoCal Haunt List has the owner’s permission to promote the haunt both online and in print, but also protects the privacy of the homeowner, should they not want their details published. This also helps to guarantee that all dates, times, and descriptions are accurate.

As such, every listing is managed by its respective owner(s)/representatives and is grouped within one of 4 event categories (Yard Display, Walk Through, Haunted Show, and Paid Attraction), as well as what age group the event is deemed appropriate for (Little Ones, Teens & Adults, 21+, All Ages).

Haunts can submit details about their event, as well as photos, links to their social media accounts, and websites.

No portion of the website, its data, or any user-generated content may be reproduced in any form or by any means outside of the SoCal Haunt List website, SoCal Haunt List social channels, or SoCal Haunt List printed flyer.
